The Penis Envy Mushroom is a recessive genetic mutation of Psilocybe cubensis mushrooms. Therefore, it is a phenotype of Cubensis and not a Psilocybe species of its own. Although Penis Envy Mushroom Spores are incredibly popular among mycology hobbyists, the spores are still relatively rare. In addition, the equipment and process to harvest the spores of Penis Envy are complex. The typical hobbyist spore vendor will not have the sophisticated equipment to produce viable spore syringes in bulk.

Cap: Spore printing is impossible with this strain because the cap does not open fully. Small to medium-sized in the first flush. The cap can become large and dense during the second and third flushes.
Stem: Solid, never hollow. They are gnarled and bulbous. It often grows a little to the side instead of straight up.
Gills: Gills remain underdeveloped because the cap does not open fully.
Spores: Dark brown to purplish or black. The spores must be harvested using advanced techniques or spore swabs

Terrance Mckenna first found the Penis Envy Mushroom in Colombia, South America, deep within the Amazon rain forest. Being one of the largest cattle ranching regions in the world, Mckenna knew he would have no problem finding a potent new strain of Psilocybe cubensis. So he was shocked when he saw the gnarled and bulbous Penis Envy Mushroom growing out of a composted cow patty. He never would have imagined that the mushroom would eventually become the most iconic Psilocybe cubensis strain in the world.
Penis Envy Mushroom mycelium is robust and rhizomorphic. It grows as fast as any healthy Psilocybe cubensis strain. The mushrooms themselves, however, are slow to develop. The average time for primordia development and pinhead production is about twenty-one days.
Penis Envy Mushroom Spores are incredibly difficult to harvest without contamination because the mushroom cap does not fully open. In our laboratory, we gather the spores by squirting a diluted antibiotic solution into the mushroom gills to prevent any bacterial contamination in our spore syringes. We also test each batch of penis envy spores before sending any to any customer to ensure that our customers receive the highest quality spore samples.
Psilocybin production in penis envy mushrooms is above average. The concentration of psilocybin per mushroom can be two to three times greater than a regular cubensis mushroom.
The general experience with Penis Envy, compared to the more common Psilocybe cubensis mushrooms, is that there is little body load. It is primarily a visual experience with vivid imagery, whether the eyes are open or closed.
