- Native to pine-oak forests at higher elevations near Guadalajara

Microscopic Characteristics
- Spores appear dark purple-brown under magnification
- Diamond-shaped when viewed from front, oval from side
- Measures 8.8-9.9 by 5.5-6.6 micrometers
- Features smooth surface texture typical of genus
